This is my current ‘goto’ textbook when I want a fast review of network technology that has faded from my aging brain as I get further away from the everyday tasks.
Recently I was preparing for a podcast on MPLS and needed a refresher to ‘switch on’ the memory. This book is nothing but hardcore data and technology summaries. I wouldn’t recommend this a “learning networking” book, I think its too deep and assumes that you have some basic knowledge.
Mid-career engineers with some years of experience will get something out of the book but people new to networking or perhaps new to certain topics may struggle. Look at other books the Juniper Day One to boost your basic knowledge before returning (yes, learning is a lifelong thing in networking)
I recommend the ebook version which makes for easier reading than a PDF. The Amazon price is less than $5 so it won’t break the bank.

Disclosure: I received a free copy of this ebook from Juniper late last year and it took a while for me to get to reading it. But heck, its less than 5 US bucks on Amazon or Apple iBooks.
