Top 5 Things About Cisco “Viral” Announcement

Top 5 things about “viral marketing” announcement today

5 – Another product escaped from the lab early and they haven’t been able to catch. It will be ready for use in two or three years time.

4 – That it will use “Microsoft-style standards” (that are almost, but not quite the actual standard e.g. Data Centre Ehternet®) to ensure that marketing department can crow about ‘leadership’.

3 – It will have virtualisation buzzwords stuck all over it. Very good chance of cloud computing buzzwords for extra bingo opportunities. In fact, its possible that there is no actual product at all, just buzzing about Cloud Computing.

2 – Whatever it is, it will help to solve the business problems of the Credit Crunch by saving you money.

Yeah, thats in every product announcement, but they will say it anyway. Insert “wah wah wah” noises when reading. It will also improve IT operations as well. Quite how that will happen is not clear….

1 – CiscoWorks management tools are getting a massive overhaul and now they will actually do something useful.

Boom boom. :-)
