OSX: Disable Skype Splash Screen on Mac OSX

  1. Open a terminal window
  2. defaults write com.skype.skype SKShowSplash NO

I loathe gratuitous marketing. A splash screen that opens everytime you open a program is loathsome.

    I wonder what version of Skype you are using. I never see the splash screen on my Skype and I can’t recall running this command.

    Tried it. Didn’t work. Still get the splash screen. Am using 5.4.0.1771.
