Networking Field Day – San Jose 2010 – Prep Steps

It’s seven days until I start travelling for the Network Tech Field Day in San Jose. The final check of my blogging equipment is underway (shaking down WordPress at Etherealmind, camera and a new computer bag after my old one failed yesterday) and I’ve stepped up the physical training to pre-game levels ( quite seriously, TechFieldDay is exhausting event).

You can find details announced at the Gestalt IT website. The final announcement of the vendors who will be attending hasn’t been announced yet but should be soon. Some of the biggest names in networking will be attending, plus some interesting companies who offer new products and features.

This is the first Tech Field Day that has only networking companies and bloggers, and focussed on the networking community and I’m proud to be helping Steve Foskett get it done. Plus I’m excited to meet the people who I’ve been reading, blogging and podcasting with for the last couple of years. See the list of people below.

Live Blogging

I think that my previous†Live Blog went pretty well, so I’m going to run that again for Network Field Day.

The Live Blog page will update automatically, and show the latest pictures and posts of the event. I’ll try to post more of the social aspects for this event since most of the bloggers are well known and people are interested in knowing more.

Packet Pushers Podcast

Ethan and I are planning to record some shows, watch the Twitter feed for details or http://bit.ly/9PkByE

Join In – We want you to be part of it!!

The TechFieldDay event gets us in front of of the vendors and some of their best engineers. If you have questions, friendly jibes, or want more details then get onto Twitter and ask, or email me: myetherealmind@gmail.com

Twitter Hash Tag

You can follow all the bloggers using the #TechFieldDay hash tag. Most twitter clients will allow you to subscribe to a Hash Tag so you can see all the bloggers and ALL of their tweets and discussions (especially the ones behind the presenters back).

It’s About Community

The primary motivation for the event to is to build a community around Networking. It’s going to be awesome for the people who are involved, which looks to me like a who’s who of the people who do social media.
