All Grumpy Old Network EngineeRs (GONERs) know that the term ‘legacy’ actually means “STUFF OF LEGEND”.

Every time a new product comes along, your typical GONER always tell you that the old gear was more awesome, more difficult, less reliable, more reliable, heavy, hard to configure, big power switches, dim the lights, did it first, did it better, did it at all, used less bandwidth, that protocol was really efficient, it cost ten times as much, cost twenty times as much, it’s so easy these days, you don’t know how good you’ve got it, it’s exactly the same as some other older technology, and you should know how fantastic it was.
Oh, that sounds a lot like someone I know. Me.
