1. Term used to describe whole or part of the cur­rent com­puter estate in which provides the under­ly­ing com­put­ing cap­ab­il­ity for a given sys­tem. This is the defin­i­tion used by Management.

2. describes the years of missed oppor­tun­it­ies, bad pur­chas­ing decisions and obsol­ete net­work equip­ment as per­ceived as a total­ity. This is the defin­i­tion used by Engineers.
