Network Dictionary – IEEEdiot

IEEEdiot ( ay-eeeee-dee-ot) is a term used to describe someone who believes that IEEE Ethernet standards process is valuable and contributing to the successful development of ethernet.

Historically, the IEEE has been worse than laggardly in updating the standard, reluctant to move quickly, and lacking in transparency. Recent attempts to improve processes have made some improvement but I’m betting Cisco isn’t too happy that the DCE standards haven’t been approved yet
