Firewall

1. A net­work device to per­mit and /​ or con­trol author­ised access to /​ from a net­work by state­fully fil­ter­ing packets.

The device is sup­posedly developed in a secure and trus­ted man­ner with addi­tional fea­tures and con­trols that provide assur­ance of a higher level of device secur­ity and soft­ware integrity.

2. A router that doesn’t work.

    Also, a net­work secur­ity device that no one out­side of IT real­izes is in place and, thusly, is the cause of a large per­cent­age of sup­port requests involving users not able to get their new applic­a­tion to work properly.
