Network Dictionary – Fascist Mode

Fascist Mode is the slang term used to describe the default security policy of block everything unless explicitly permitted.

As Ivan Pepelnjaksays in his blog post:

fascist mode – whatever is not explicitly permitted is dropped).

    A friend of mine liked to refer to such a security policy as ‘Catholic mode’. That implies the Protestant mode is ‘everything allowed unless explicitly forbidden’.
