Network Dictionary – Automagically

Less commonly used to shorten a detailed technical description into a sound bite so that a meeting or discussion can rapidly progress. Usually assumes that the listeners have some insight or knowledge of the summarised content.

More commonly, automagically is a catch-all term used by engineers when explaining stuff to dumb people. As in, “so when you start the OSPF process it will automagically determine it router-id
