Remembrance Day – Lest We Forget.

While I am opposed to war, I recognise the brutal realities which require the use of force. I don’t like it and abhor those people who see force as a solution. I support all peaceful efforts to resolve differences.

Today is a day to remember the sacrifice of those who have died, suffered injury or have been to war. We do not remember the why, or the rightness of the purpose, or the event that led our politicians to commit such acts. We remember the bravery and honour of those who fought in my name.

Ode of Remembrance

They went with songs to the battle, they were young.
Straight of limb, true of eyes, steady and aglow.
They were staunch to the end against odds uncounted,
They fell with their faces to the foe.

They shall grow not old, as we that are left grow old:
Age shall not weary them, nor the years condemn.
At the going down of the sun and in the morning,
We will remember them.

LEST WE FORGET
