I am for­tu­nate to have been invited to par­ti­cip­ate in the first ever Gestalt IT Field day on the 12^th and 13^th November in San Jose. An entire boggle of blog­gers will be there receiv­ing brief­ings from a num­ber of top man­u­fac­tur­ers and prob­ably filling up Twitter with non­sensical ram­blings (entirely nor­mal for Twitter of course) and I expect to write about vari­ous parts of those present­a­tions in areas that seem of interest to me. You are warned.

What is Gestalt IT ?

Basically it’s a bunch of people who want to have a say about the IT industry. Sometimes tech­nical, some­times busi­ness, but ana­lysis and com­ment­ary that crosses most of the IT industry. It worth tak­ing a look to see if it is some­thing that you are inter­ested in.

Steve Foskett ini­ti­ated the idea and some col­lab­or­a­tion on posts between vendors (can you believe it) and between engin­eers on spe­cific top­ics. I have pos­ted sev­eral pieces on Storage Networking there.

Looking Forward

I’m really look­ing for­ward to this event. I don’t get to meet many people or attend many events, and the oppor­tun­ity to meet a bunch of really smart people is quite daunt­ing. I expect to learn heaps and have my eyes opened to loads of news tech­no­logy. Love that.

It’s gonna be a great break from work­ing for a living!!
