I am fortunate to have been invited to participate in the first ever Gestalt IT Field day on the 12th and 13th November in San Jose. An entire boggle of bloggers will be there receiving briefings from a number of top manufacturers and probably filling up Twitter with nonsensical ramblings (entirely normal for Twitter of course) and I expect to write about various parts of those presentations in areas that seem of interest to me. You are warned.

Meet Up
If there is anyone in the San Jose area who could possibly imagine that speaking to me would be a worthwhile thing then get in contact using the Contact Form or by emailing me myetherealmind –at__ gmail__com. I’m not completely sure of times, but I’m likely to be free on Friday night and Sunday morning. Get in touch and lets see if we can arrange something. Catch to the RSS Feed at http://feeds.gestaltit.com/GestaltIT_All
What is Gestalt IT ?
Basically it’s a bunch of people who want to have a say about the IT industry. Sometimes technical, sometimes business, but analysis and commentary that crosses most of the IT industry. It worth taking a look to see if it is something that you are interested in.
Steve Foskett initiated the idea and some collaboration on posts between vendors (can you believe it) and between engineers on specific topics. I have posted several pieces on Storage Networking there.
Field Day – Sponsors
Several companies have stepped up to sponsor the event. There are still some opportunities for sponsors if you would like to participate.

Looking Forward
I’m really looking forward to this event. I don’t get to meet many people or attend many events, and the opportunity to meet a bunch of really smart people is quite daunting. I expect to learn heaps and have my eyes opened to loads of news technology. Love that.
It’s gonna be a great break from working for a living!!
