Etherealmind.com has had a makeover on the weekend and has a new theme. It’s much more modern and I think I got the colours correct this time. I’m much happier with the look and feel and it seems a bit quicker. I have decided to adopt the motto (after last weeks feedback from readers):
Where too much networking would be barely enough ((Australian Readers will note the homage to “Roy and HG” ))
I have also changed the way that advertising is laid out on the site. And speaking of ads…..
Advertising
After much thinking and discussion I have decided to accept sponsorship for direct advertising. The same concepts will still apply with regards to ethics and standards and there is no change to what and how I write (if you can call it writing). I will continue to disclose where necessary and maintain editorial independence.
There are two reasons for this change. Firstly, the hosting costs of running this site are starting to get significant and my wife and chlidren would prefer if my blog paid for itself. Secondly, I would like to increase my contributions to charity. If I can increase the advertising revenue, then I’m hoping to achieve both.
Charity
You can check out money I have donated in the name of Etherealmind to microfinance initiatives with Kiva thanks to advertising revenue from the last two years.
Justgiving
I am also fundraising for a new School Hall at my children’s school. About half of the money raised is donated here. You can see the donations page at http://justiving.com/etherealmind
We have been fundraising for the hall for about ten years now, and have recently completed the building. However, we need to pay off the debt incurred and I have continue to donate and currently have raised £232.00 out of my target of £500.
Advertising
I have posted some details on the advertising process and details on this page Advertising Details. For pricing please use my contact page or email myetherealmind — at __ googlemail-com to get prices.
Thanks
Finally a thanks to everyone who reads me on a regular basis. It’s been a fun journey so far, and I look forward to seeing more of you in the coming year.
