Cisco IPSec VPN Client – 64 Bit – In Beta

Found out today that Cisco has a beta 64-bit IPSec VPN client . it seems that Cisco is listening to customers after all. The general reading was that Cisco was deprecating IPSec and expecting customers to move to SSL when they issued a End of Life notice for IPSec client.

After all this time of only having SSL support for 64bit, and receiving indications that no IPSec client was in development it’s nice to learn that good things do happen.

Thanks to Debello who left a comment that

As of yester day I was able to down load a new beta version of the ipsec client (version 5.0.07.0240) that is x64 compatible from cisco.com. I have the beta running on Windows 7 pro x64 without issues so far.

This is going to make a lot of people really happy and some of the clients I have upgraded to Anyconnect a little upset.

    Thanks for the info.
