There are many people dissatisfied with social media platforms. I am too. I’m challenging myself, and you, to blog 30 times in 30 days to highlight the blog as the best social media platform.
I’m inspired by Om Malik and Matt Mullenweg. I’ve been blogging at EtherealMind for since January 2008 and remains my number one focus. I don’t need use Facebook, Twitter and Google Plus to share with other people. I have my website that I own, manage and control and it has taken me on an amazing journey of creativity and learning.
The process of writing makes me think, consider, discuss and research. I’m learning more and more about business, vendor operations, market dynamics every day. It took me a long time to understand that blogging has transformed me from being skilful on networking to building expertise.
Join me on the challenge. Here is what you can do:
- most people have a blog – use it!
- start a free blog at WordPress.com, start writing.
- Sign up for PacketPushers.net and publish posts there. Join the independent community there.
It doesn’t have to be technical either. Your favourite youtube, a photo of the data centre, your desk. A quote from phone call or text message. Or snarky jokes
Send me an email to firstname.lastname@example.org and tell me about your blog, I’ll publish a list of people taking the challenge so that people can find your blog. That’s social.
Make sure you leave comments on other peoples blogs so they know someone read it. Just like you would on Twitter, Facebook , leave a comment saying “Like” or “Favourite”.
