His kind of “belief” is founded in forcing your own morals onto society which reeks of the worst of religious fervour and the damage that causes. You can lead, you can discuss, you can even orate on your point, but you don’t force people to your view using fear, uncertainty and doubt.

Good riddance to them and what CertGuard stood for. Nothing but wrongness, misguided conviction and plain stupidity.

Robert Williams went out of his way to try to make the world a better place. He did, though not necessarily in the way he intended. 

His execution may have been flawed, his heart was in the right place. He probably had a considerable amount of frustration and I don’t doubt he got a lot of flack for his strong words and positions. It’s also a very tricky and delicate matter to try to find integrity in a world where there isn’t much of it. And how one person can really take on a corrupt hemisphere, I don’t know… but he tried and I respect him for it.

There is nothing misguided about ‘maintaining operational status’. Seems like a fairly straightforward and critical part of the mission… to stay in business to continue to provide services and to work on technologies and methodologies to ensure integrity in testing.  If you believe that such endeavors should be done entirely at Robert’s own expense, when the responsibility actually should have been more squarely set on the shoulders of the industry, I unfortunately have to disagree. The testing companies make money for the tests they provide, whether they have a high level of credibility or otherwise.

If we’re discussing morality and amateurishness, one would have to question the ethics of calling someone ‘stupid’ in the way you’ve done here. What he did may have been misguided and mistakes were definitely part of the road, I cannot say that you have done much better. 

It’s too easy to go on the internet and get offended and then to retaliate in an ‘unprofessional manner’. In dealing with the large numbers of people who do as he did, and as you have ALSO done, Robert simply showed his humanity.

I hope that in this world there are more people like Robert Williams. He may try and fail miserably, but at least he tried.

Michael. Crime stoppers and neighborhood watches dont go around accusing people just for the heck of it. Williams basis his conclusions on assumptions drawn from his CSI-filed brain. He and possibily you, live in a dream world where you belive everything on anything without looking at the facts and most of all, using your god given common sence. (B) Big vendors dont give a damn about you cheating. Why because they know brain dumps exists. That would be the equivalent of saying the police have no need for community watch programs. Neighborhood Watch, Crime Stoppers, and other community based programs assist law enforcement officers daily.

Are you aware of the massive problem with I.T. certifications? The term “paper certification” just doesn’t apply to Microsoft. Your precious Cisco community is littered with them as well. Some are just not that stupid to advertise they use it on their blog.

Stop placing people such as Ethan on pedestals. He reviewed braindump material, blogged it, admitted his ignorance, took down his blog, put it back up and everyone thinks he is a victim in all this???
