Collection of useful, relevant or inane places on the the Internets for 8th May:
- Windows 7 RC: Reality Check Edition – This Apple Blog article points out that Windows 7 not really faster, not easy to buy (too many versions), not easy to install (must be fresh install) and possibly is popular because WinXP is NINE years old.
I haven't found any new features yet that make me want to buy it. And certainly not for the rumoured £300.
- Should Have Gone With Cisco » Blog Archive » Nexus 7000 Virtual Portchannel Part 3 (final) – Ted from the "Should Have Gone With Cisco" finishes off his three part series of posts on Virtual Portchannels ussing CSS. ANd a fine job he did too.
Go and read this.
- CCIE Blog – Find a Blog – Why are people not voting for me at the IPexpert blog site. There are lots of good blogs listed here and worthy people who create them. I want to be higher – go there now and vote me.
(yeah yeah, I am feeling grumpy and unloved today – I upgraded firewalls very early this morning and I need a little boost.)
- Brad Reese on Cisco Earnings and piss poor telepresence – Brad Reese points out the obvious. Cisco Telepresence is overblown and over priced. Useful for over paid executives. Cisco has achieved travel savings by stopping travel, not by switching to teleconferencing.
Teleconferencing remains a niche product, at best. A 139% in telepresence sales off a very low base isn't changing the world. Finding ways to use the telephone or instant messaging will.
