- Rough Type: Nicholas Carr’s Blog: A prescription for smart pills – Using pharmacology (and I mean the legal type) looks like its going to be come normal practice. What happens for certifications when people go on "study drugs" to enhance their performance.
What about people who take the same drugs at work ? Are they better than you ?
Worrying.
- Is VoIP dead? | NetworkWorld.com Community – I read with delight that even VoIP consultants think that VoIP is dead. Well, not quite dead, it's just normal. I looked at VoIP in 2001 and came to that conclusion then, and never bothered much with it after that.
In hindsight, it was the right decision. Mobile telephones are far more important than fixed line PBX systems and have utterly reduced the importance of structured VoIP to trivial. It's a big market, but not an exciting one.
Now, Mobile VoIP is kinda fun, but still not very interesting.
- Is Cisco’s price-point for its wireless multiroom music system too high? | NetworkWorld.com Community – I posted recently that Cisco is might not be capable of low price, low margin products. This article suggests Cisco/Linksys wireless music system costing multihundreds of dollars is released. That doesn't seem right to me.
