Collection of useful, relevant or inane places on the the Internets for 27th Nov 09:
- The 10-Year Anniversary of InfiniBand ´ Xsigo Virtual I/O Blog – Infiniband – the real data centre networking protocol – turns ten years old. It is worth noting that they recently Infiniband vendors announced 120 GB/s speed (Quad Rate) and with latencies of 200ns. Ten times faster than Ethernet both in speed and latency.
- Cisco VSS presentation | CCIEZone.com – A good presentation covering the major features and functions of VSS on Cat6500. Good resource if you have to write a report on why you should choose VSS.
- Using a 27-inch iMac as an external display – How to use your 27" iMac as headless server, while using the screen on your MacBook Pro.
- Pingtest.net – The Global Broadband Quality Test
Yet another site to help test the performance of your internet connection. This one is based in Europe so is actually useful.
Note that some ISP’s traffic shape to improve the performance of speedtest.net so they “look better”.
