Collection of useful, relevant or inane places on the the Internets for 21 Jan 10:

  • Home — Embrane — Elastic Network Service Virtualization for Public and Private Clouds –

Dante Malagrino is back. I won’t thank him for leading the FCoE development for Cisco(yet) but if he can develop a decent management platform for the Data Centre then I might forgive him.

No product details yet, but interesting to see what develops. Data Centre Management is still the big unknown for cloud success, without it, Clouds will definitely fail.

  • What the Current Wireless Plans Tell Us About Future Data Prices – GigaOM –

Details on the unlimited pricing plans in the US. Some readers wrote on my recent post about the end of IP Telephony that there are no Unlimited plans and that mobile phones won’t replace the desk phones because they are too expensive

    Well, here they are.

  • YouTube
     – Broadcast Yourself.
     –

Youtube is testing their HTML5 interface. Uses H264 for video encoding and not Adobe Flash. Reduces CPU usage wen you have a lot of browser windows open.

Less Flash means a better Internet
