Collection of useful, relevant or inane places on the the Internets for 19th Jul:
- Outlook Separation Anxiety Holds Back Google Apps — Business Center — PC World — People want to stick with with MS Outlook because it’s so painful to use, counter-intuitive and flawed in so many ways. As a result they can’t imagine any replacement that wouldn’t require an enormous process of re-learning and adaptation.
Using alternatives isn’t difficult, convincing people that it isn’t difficult is really really hard.
- BT brings jobs back from India • The Register — I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again — Outsourcing doesn’t work in real life. You replace one set of problems, with another set of problems. Typically, the new problems are worse than the old ones because you can’t have much impact on fixing them.
- What’s New in Cisco Product Documentation [Support] — Cisco Systems — Cisco Documentation updates for July. Notably, almost nothing changed.……choke, choke, cough cough.
