Some web reading that I found interesting in the last week.
Links from 19th Dec:
- http://www.dapperstache.com/index.php?contenttype=ptoa – The Periodic Table of Awesomeness. So funny it hurts, and stunningly accurate. An amazing piece of science, humour and website development. Good Friday afternoon laugh.
- L.root-servers.net goes IPv6 ´ IPv6 – NextGen Internet – Another DNS root server goes IPV6. Seven out of thirteen DNS root servers are now IPV6 enabled and I am starting to think that IPV6 might actually happen next year. But slap me stupid, I said that for the last two years and human nature says that collective ignorance will continue.
- Wake Up Your Mac Faster – I write on the train, but hibernating my MAC takes a few minutes – annoying. Turns out that OS X is hibernating to Disk and RAM and 4GB memory takes time to write the hibernate file. This tip shows you how to disable the Disk, but let the RAM hibernate. I can now shut the lid, and pop my computer into my bag.Life changing.Tip of the hat to Steve Lowe for this – http://blog.scottlowe.org/
