- Just Observations, Not Assertions: Cisco’s Problem with Management is Management — Now, while this guy works for Brocade and he is definitely taking a shot at Cisco from a competitive perspective, there is now doubt that he makes some very good points. Cisco Network Management tools are complete trash. Primary evidence of this can be found in the universal bile from people I speak to about how bad Cisco Works is. Secondary evidence is seen is the number and size of the Network management applications that exist in the market.
Because Cisco consists of several business units who compete with each other, the network management strategy has not worked. Even Cisco Works software tools are aligned with each business unit (WAN, LAN, Security and so on).
