An idea turned into a conversation turned into a podcast. I am pleased to announced that EtherealMind has joined with Ethan Banks (yes! Ethan, once of the very popular CCIE Candidate website) and Dan Hughes to attempt a weekly podcast on the Networking Industry.
Welcome to the Packet Pushers Podcast
Welcome to PacketPushers and our first podcast. Although this was meant to be a practice run, we figure that we would just publish it anyway and do it again next.
Today, Dan Hughes, Greg Ferro, and Ethan Banks discussed the weeks events in the world of networking, including :
Terry Childs conviction under California’s anti hacking laws for withholding administrative access to the network of his previous employer.
Comparison of NX-OS and IOS, and Cisco’s direction on OS standardization.
The price drops being seen in CCIE Bootcamp pricing (original article is on linkedin group, summary being that CCIE bootcamp pricing has dropped hugely recently) – we looked at why, and how it ties to Cisco’s 360 program.
Finally, the hugely important subject of Ethan’s love of Caffeinated Maple Bacon Lollipops finished us off.
You can subscribe to Packet Pushers Podcast on iTunes with this link or using http://feeds.packetpushers.net/PacketPushersPodcast RSS Feed for other types of Podcast clients. We have also setup a website at http://packetpushers.net for full details on the podcast.
If there is enough interest, we will get more community involvement. We are hoping to take questions from the community, and encourage more dialog between.
The EtherealMind View
For whatever reason, the networking community does not seem to be strong or well organised. Packet Pushers is an attempt to reach out and get more people involved in our industry and getting our voices heard by vendors and industry bodies. I am very grateful to Ethan and Dan for making the commitment to recording a podcast on a regular basis and reckon that the first show is a great start.
I am hoping to add more community features to EtherealMind in the near future, including forums and more social networking. But for now, a podcast needs your support as put something back into the community.
Please join in the Packet Pushers Podcast!!
