Network Dictionary - Subconscious Study Avoidance (SSA)

11 August, 2008 by Greg Ferro      Print Posting

Subconscious Study Avoidance (SSA) is well recognised problem during the early stages of commitment to the ‘Way of Study’. Typically, early stage candidates find that there are so many study options, that they start reconsidering their choice and think about studying Security or Voice, some even think about Wireless!

However. most people pass through this stage quickly and become Mendicants and really buckle down to serious, committed study plans. Stick with Routing and Switching, then you can build on those skills is my advice.

Hell, I haven’t even gotten that far. I still can’t decide which of the four CCNP exams to work on first.

I’ll spent some time on MPLS and IPSec VPNs, then drift off to QoS, and the next thing I know I’m wiring the home lab up for some BSCI scenarios.

When it comes to making a decision and sticking with it, I’m worse than a woman! =)

Amen, Jeremy. I sit up in the evening just staring at my CCNP library trying to decide where to start!
