I have decided to undergo an image change. This mantle of modesty ill becomes me and I need a confidence boost. Let all the IT people recite the lay of the Networking Hero!

The Lay of the Network Hero

His greatness is greater than the Server Guy.
Yeah verily, he is the Consultant of Consultants.
He shall be known to all network engineers and has unlimited bandwidth.
He shall hear the cries of networking woe and respond with solutions.
He shall listen to upgrade anguish and offer solace and comfort.
He shall deliver network diagrams of matchless beauty, but yet, accurate and detailed.
The dirge for slain networks shall be replaced with the dance of successful forwarding.
Routing that has been laid low shall propagate routes and redistribute loop free.
Performance shall be enhanced, and graphed with detail.
He can recommend software versions that work as expected.
And upgrade paths shall be smooth and predictable.
He will connect Storage to a single fabric and the voices of praise shall be many.
In the paleness of morning, (usually about 2am), when the network is at its darkest hour
The people in the street shall raise their voices in praise, and call the Network Hero :

“Too much networking is just not enough”
