CSM, IDSM, ADSM Performance Problems or Memory Errors ? Increase Java Memory.

I have been getting out of memory errors in Java when running CSM and ASDM clients on MS Windows platforms. Here are some tips for improving Java performance, and letting you run more than one Java program / applet at the same time

Are You Ready to Purchase a Brocade Ethernet Switch ? What ?

One of the more amusing byproducts of the FCoE marketing push, is that Brocade has announced that they will producing FCoE switches for their customers. So, are you ready to buy a Brocade Ethernet switch ?

Fancy Ethernet – generalised term used to describe Converged Enhanced Ethernet (CEE). Also used for Cisco’s trademarked and proprietary superset known as Data Centre Ethernet (DCE).

“distress purchase” refers a purchase made at some critical point, usually during a failure, traffic leap or other unplanned event.

Data Centre Ethernet Standards Fight Brewing ? Brocade Says FCoE in 2010.

I note this quote from a recent article on The Register where Brocade talks about their future strategy.

Rant: Computerworld – World’s Youngest CCNA: 12-Year-Old Irtiza From Pakistan

So a 12 year old passed the CCNA test. I suspect that many people will use this to point out how easy, or pointless, certfication is, but I believe it is a testament to education and the value of a well organised teaching system
